Officer - Agricultural Production

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable individual to join our team as an Officer – Agricultural Production. The role requires an individual with background in agriculture, a passion for supporting farmers, and expertise in seed production and agricultural research. The Officer will be responsible for monitoring seed production, advising farmers, conducting research, and collaborating with internal teams to enhance agricultural production and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Research & Development: 

• Assist in designing and conducting field trials and research activities under the guidance of the Training & Research Officer. 
• Collect, analyze, and document data related to crop performance, pest management, and seed production. 
• Support in developing innovative agricultural solutions based on research findings.

2. Farmer Training & Advisory Support: 

• Assist in planning and conducting training sessions for farmers on best agricultural practices, including seed production and pest control. 
• Prepare training materials and advisory content in coordination with the Training & Research Officer.
• Ensure accurate dissemination of technical knowledge to farmers as per company guidelines.

3. Seed Production Support: 

• Work closely with the Training & Research Officer to monitor and document seed production activities. 
• Ensure that standard protocols are followed in seed selection, processing, and storage.

4. Field Data Collection & Reporting: 

• Conduct regular visits to project areas to monitor and assess field activities. 
• Maintain accurate records of research trials and training sessions. 
• Report all findings and field observations to the Training & Research Officer in a timely manner. 

5. Collaboration & Coordination: 

• Work collaboratively with the Training & Research Officer to ensure smooth execution of projects. 
• Seek guidance and approval from the Senior Agriculture Officer for strategic decisions and operational challenges. 
• Maintain good communication with farmers, stakeholders, and internal teams.

6. Compliance & Documentation: 

• Ensure all research and training activities adhere to company policies and agricultural standards. 
• Assist in preparing reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Key Accountability & Work Flow: 

• Daily supervision and guidance will be provided by the Training & Research Officer. 
• Overall performance evaluation, strategic direction, and HR-related matters will be overseen by the Senior Agriculture Officer. 
• Any conflicts or major decisions should be escalated to the Senior Agriculture Officer for resolution.
