We are looking for a data professional, preferably with a background in business and design. The ideal candidate is a cognitively diverse individual who is a methodical problem solver and a good communicator. We value competence and cognitive aptitude above age, academics, gender and former professional background. Therefore, anybody who wants to tackle interesting problems in data science is welcome to apply and interview for this position.
Communication:
Liaison with members of other teams within the company and record briefings for and by them;
Tackle meetings and presentations;
Tackle briefings and brainstorming exercises, and translate business needs into objective action points with great language proficiency.
Risk analytics:
Work under supervision to help revise and develop KYC questionnaires;
Work under supervision to help implement different iterations of credit scoring systems and help get them integrated with the core company ERP stack.
Technical Tasks
Write programming scripts to enhance the functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary;
Prepare technical documentation (e.g., technical documentation for product briefs, API documentation, etc.).
A Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree in any quantitative field. 3rd or 4th year undergraduate students may apply, but would have to exhibit good language proficiency and quantitative aptitude.
Any online certification on courses related to data science is appreciated, but not requisite.
Great fluency in English (both spoken and written). Can put thoughts into writing, especially for documents that have several moving parts.
Good proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel formula language, pivot tables, PowerQuery). Can tackle data wrangling challenges with ease.
Familiarity with visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Datastudio or programming libraries like ggplot, plotly, matplotlib.
Comfortable coding with any data centric language such as R and/or Python.
Familiarity with coding and productivity tools such as Google Colaboratory, GSuite, Zoom/Google Meet, Asana, etc.
Preferred Experience
Professional experience in product design or business development is considered a plus.
Experience participating in business competitions is considered a plus.
Academic experience in business and/or professional experience in data science is considered a plus.
